Welcome
The Biographies section of the MGU Book Club brings together reviews of works examining individual lives through biography, autobiography, memoir, correspondence, and related forms of life writing. Its scope includes figures from politics, business, scholarship, the arts, and other areas of public and private life.
Reviews consider the quality of research, selection and interpretation of evidence, narrative balance, historical context, and the distinction between the subject’s own account and a biographer’s conclusions. They also evaluate the insights these works offer into personal decisions and the broader circumstances in which people lived.
