Value

Economics Glossary – Malone Global University

Definition

Value is the importance, usefulness, or worth of something, often reflected in what people are willing to give up (such as money or time) to obtain it.

Why It Matters

Value drives prices, trade, and decision-making, and it explains why different people may pay different amounts for the same item.

Example

A person values a concert ticket highly and is willing to pay more for it than someone else.
