- 1 cup yellow cornmeal

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C) and grease a cast-iron skillet or baking pan.
- In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk milk, melted butter, eggs, and maple syrup.
- Mix wet and dry ingredients until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake 20–25 minutes until golden and firm.
