Overview
Banana Nut Bread is a sweet, moist quick bread made with overripe bananas and chopped nuts. It's perfect for breakfast, dessert, or snack time.
Ingredients
- 2–3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas with melted butter.
- Stir in sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla.
- Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture, then mix in flour until just combined.
- Fold in chopped nuts.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
