- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup milk
- For topping: 2 tbsp melted butter, 1 tsp garlic, 1 tbsp chopped parsley
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and cayenne.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheddar cheese.
- Add milk and stir just until combined; do not overmix.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake 12–15 minutes, until golden and puffed.
- Brush warm biscuits with garlic herb butter mixture and serve immediately.
Tips
- Use sharp cheddar for strong flavor; mild cheddar will produce a gentler taste.
- Cold butter ensures a light, flaky texture.
- Serve warm for best flavor, paired with soups, salads, or roasted meats.
