Soft, sweet, and twisted breadsticks with cinnamon sugar and a creamy glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or snack time.
Ingredients
360 ml (1 ½ cups) warm water
1 tablespoon instant yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
497 g (3 ½ cups) flour
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
53 g (¼ cup) granulated sugar
1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
57 g (½ cup) powdered sugar
1 tablespoon milk
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
In a large bowl or electric stand mixer bowl, combine water, yeast, and sugar. Add 1 cup of flour and salt, mix well. Gradually add more flour until a soft, smooth dough forms. Knead for 2-3 minutes until the dough is soft and smooth.
Let the dough rest for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 12x18-inch baking sheet.
Lightly grease a clean countertop and press the dough into an 8x18-inch rectangle. Spread melted butter over the dough.
Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then sprinkle it over the dough and press lightly.
Cut the dough into 1-inch strips, twist each strip a few times, and place them on the baking sheet.
Cover the breadsticks with plastic wrap and let them rise at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust milk for desired consistency.
Let the breadsticks cool for 5 minutes, then drizzle with the glaze. Serve warm.
