8Ball & MJG are a hip-hop duo from Memphis, Tennessee, consisting of Premro Smith (8Ball) and Marlon Goodwin (MJG). Emerging in the early 1990s, they became two of the most important figures in the development of Southern hip-hop, helping define the Memphis rap sound. Their music blends street storytelling, Southern slang, and smooth but hard-hitting production.
Their debut album Comin’ Out Hard introduced their gritty yet melodic style and established them as rising voices in Southern rap.
