RZA, born Robert Fitzgerald Diggs in Brooklyn, New York, is a rapper, producer, filmmaker, and founding member of Wu-Tang Clan. He is widely recognized as the primary architect of Wu-Tang Clan’s signature sound, blending raw drum loops, soul samples, and cinematic influences. His production helped define 1990s East Coast hip-hop.
As a member of Wu-Tang Clan, he played a central role in the group’s groundbreaking debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). He also produced early solo projects for multiple Wu-Tang members, shaping the sound of their individual careers. His approach combined minimalism with dark, atmospheric textures.
