Overview
The federal prosecution of BMF unfolded across multiple districts after investigators mapped a cocaine and money-laundering enterprise extending from Detroit into numerous states. Major indictments were returned in and after 2005.
Detroit Leadership Case
Demetrius and Terry Flenory were prosecuted as the organization’s founding leadership. Justice Department and appellate records identify the brothers as leaders of the enterprise and record 30-year federal sentences.
Related District Cases
Related prosecutions in Louisville, Atlanta, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Orlando, and other jurisdictions targeted distributors, couriers, money handlers, and associates. The cases demonstrate BMF’s geographic reach while also requiring care not to treat every defendant in every related case as having the same organizational rank.
