When Shelton Cortez Walker was arrested later that month, D.C. police identified Walker—who also used the surname Watkins—as wanted on a murder charge in connection with Blake’s death. The same arrest report connected Walker to several other violent cases and described the arrest as a joint D.C.–Montgomery County–FBI effort.
