Overview
The Dog Pound was a later Detroit criminal enterprise associated with former YBI leader Milton “Butch” Jones. Federal appellate records state that Jones led the organization from 1995 through 2001.
Criminal Activity
The Sixth Circuit described the enterprise as distributing heroin, marijuana, and cocaine. Members also robbed rival drug traffickers, and the federal prosecution included allegations involving murders, kidnappings, and other violence.
Relationship to Young Boys Incorporated
The same individual, Milton Jones, connects the Dog Pound to YBI historically. The organizations should nevertheless remain separate encyclopedia entries because they operated in different periods and were treated as distinct enterprises in federal litigation.
Federal Case
Jones ultimately pleaded guilty to running a continuing criminal enterprise and was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.
