单元二综合任务:一天的生活
Assessment Objectives
This chapter checks whether you can:
- Introduce yourself and talk about your family using 是, 有, and 的.
- Tell the day, date, and time and describe a daily routine using time-before-verb order.
- Talk about food and drink preferences using 喜欢, 想, and 要.
- Describe where things and people are using 在 and 有.
- Ask prices, count items with measure words, and react to a price with 太...了.
- Produce controlled but connected spoken and written Mandarin that combines several of these systems in one task.
This chapter introduces no new grammar, no new characters beyond the productive inventory of Chapters 1-9, and no new pronunciation system. It synthesizes and assesses what you have already studied.
Communication Scenario
莎拉, 大卫, and 小林 have finished their first weeks together — meeting each other, talking about family, learning the campus, eating together, and shopping near school. This chapter asks you to put those pieces together by following one full day in 莎拉's life, from morning to evening.
- You will listen to, read, write, and speak about a single connected day, using only the vocabulary, characters, and grammar introduced in Chapters 1-9.
- No new words, characters, or sentence patterns appear in this chapter. If something looks unfamiliar, it is meant to be recognizable from an earlier chapter — review that chapter before continuing.
Where This Chapter Fits
Chapter 10 closes Unit II. It does not add a new communicative domain. Instead, it asks you to move fluidly between the identity, family, time, food, routine, location, and shopping systems from Chapters 1-9 inside a single connected task.
Coming Into This Chapter
Identity and greetings (Ch. 1-2), family and possession with 的/有 (Ch. 3), numbers, dates, and time (Ch. 4), food and drink preferences (Ch. 6), daily routines (Ch. 7), location with 在 (Ch. 8), and shopping and quantities (Ch. 9).
New in This Chapter
Nothing grammatically new. The only new element is the demand to combine these systems in longer, connected listening, reading, writing, and speaking tasks.
Looking Forward
Unit III begins in Chapter 11 with ability and communication (会/能/可以), building directly on the confidence and control you demonstrate here.
Systems Under Review
The table below lists the productive systems from Chapters 1-9 that this assessment may require. Nothing outside this table should be necessary to complete the chapter.
| Chapter | Domain | Key Productive Systems |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | First meetings | 你/我/他/她, 是, 也, 吗 |
| 2 | People and classroom identity | 这/那, 是/不是, 什么, 哪 |
| 3 | Family and relationships | 的, 有/没有, 几/多少 |

| 7 | Daily routines | 每, 都, 也, 不/没 contrast |
| 8 | Location and places | 在, 哪儿/哪里, 有 existence, locative phrases |
| 9 | Shopping and quantities | 块/毛/分, 个/本/杯, 太...了, 多少钱 |
All vocabulary and characters used in this chapter come from the productive lists of Chapters 1-9. No unlabeled regional forms, traditional characters, or unstudied vocabulary appear below.
Listening Assessment
Ask your instructor, a study partner, or a fluent Mandarin speaker to read the passage below aloud twice, at a natural pace, before you answer the questions.
If no speaker is available, this is a Listening Script for Independent Use. Read it aloud yourself, slowly at first, then at a natural pace. Any spoken model should be verified by a fluent Mandarin speaker before being treated as a pronunciation standard.
莎拉的一天 — Sarah's Day:
"大家好,我是莎拉。今天是星期六。我家有四个人:爸爸,妈妈,弟弟,和我。早上我七点起床,八点去学校。中午我很饿,我想喝茶,也喜欢吃面包。下午我和小林去商店买东西。我买了两个苹果,一共六块钱。我也想买一本书,可是太贵了,我没有买。晚上我在家,我的书在桌子上。今天是很好的一天!"
听力任务 — Listening task:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| 莎拉家有几个人?都是谁? (How many people are in Sarah's family? Who are they?) | ______ |
| 莎拉几点起床?几点去学校? (What time does Sarah get up? What time does she go to school?) | ______ |
| 莎拉买了什么?多少钱? (What did Sarah buy? How much?) | ______ |
| 莎拉为什么没有买书? (Why didn't Sarah buy a book?) | ______ |
Reading Assessment
Read the short diary entry below and answer the comprehension questions.
理解问题 — Comprehension questions:
- 大卫平常几点起床?星期天呢? (What time does David usually get up? And on Sundays?)
- 大卫家有几个人?他有弟弟吗? (How many people in David's family? Does he have a younger brother?)
- 大卫为什么没有买东西? (Why didn't David buy anything?)
Writing Assessment
Write a connected description of your own day, using only vocabulary, characters, and grammar from Chapters 1-9.
写作任务 — Writing task: Write eight to ten sentences in simplified characters, typing them with Pinyin input if possible, or copying/handwriting the characters you have already been assigned for handwriting. Your description must include:
- A self-introduction. Give your name and at least one fact about your family using 有 or 的.
- A time expression. State what time you do something, placed correctly before the verb.
- A preference. Use 喜欢, 想, or 要 to describe a food or drink preference.
- A location. Use 在 to say where you or something is.
- A shopping detail. Include a price, a measure word, or a reaction with 太...了.
修改清单 — Editing checklist:
- Time expressions come before the verb, not after.
- A measure word appears between every number and its noun.
- 两, not 二, is used directly before a measure word.
- 不 and 没/没有 are not used interchangeably.
- A Chinese period (。) or question mark (?) ends each sentence.
Speaking Assessment
控制性练习 — Controlled practice: guided interview
With a partner, take turns asking and answering these questions aloud: 你叫什么名字?你家有几个人?你几点起床?你喜欢喝什么?你的书在哪儿?
交际任务 — Communicative task: describe your day
Without reading from a script, describe your typical day to a partner in five or six connected sentences: when you get up, what you like to eat or drink, where you go, and something you bought recently.
独立练习 — Solo alternative
Record yourself describing your day using the same five or six sentences. Listen back and check your tones, your 一 and 不 sandhi, and your measure-word choices.
Culture and Communication Check
Across Chapters 1-9 you have practiced culturally appropriate greetings, family reference, classroom etiquette, and shop interactions such as addressing a shopkeeper as 老板. As you complete this chapter's tasks, keep using these appropriately — for example, greeting a partner properly before an interview task, or using polite, friendly language when role-playing a shop exchange.
