Overview
This page is part of the Artist Directories area of the Malone Global University Music Department. It is designed to help students locate, compare, and study music artists in a structured way. The goal is not only to list names, but to connect artists to musical roles, traditions, recordings, scenes, histories, instruments, technologies, and communities.
Artist reference pages should support both quick lookup and serious study. A reader may arrive looking for a single name, a genre cluster, a role-based directory, a listening path, or a research starting point. Each page should therefore provide clear organization, useful cross-links, and enough context to show why the directory matters.
As this section grows, keep one canonical page for each major artist or group whenever possible. The same artist may appear in several directories, but the full biography or study page should live in one main location and be linked from related indexes.
On This Page
Directory Scope
This page is the broadest artist gateway in the Music Department. It should eventually connect to every canonical artist, composer, performer, group, producer, DJ, songwriter, ensemble, and band page in the reference system.
Artist Categories
The all-artists directory should organize names in more than one way so readers can browse by role, sound, period, community, and field of work.
Build Notes
Use this page as the master index for all music artists. As individual pages are created, add each artist once in the most useful canonical location, then cross-link that page from supporting genre, role, era, and heritage directories.
Page Building Notes
Build this page first as a stable landing page with a clear scope and useful child links. Later, expand it with alphabetized entries, short descriptions, canonical artist links, listening paths, biography links, and connections to albums, songs, timelines, genres, and cultural study pages.
Keep artist pages respectful, music-centered, and context-rich. Avoid reducing artists to appearance, celebrity status, or identity labels. Focus on musical contribution, sound, role, recordings, performance, influence, community, and historical setting.
