Welcome to Orientation

Orientation is the first day of class. It establishes guidelines and expected outcomes. The goal is to better familiarize students with how the system works so that they can function properly. Orientation makes knowing what you are supposed to do and how to do it common knowledge.

This page introduces the basic documents, policies, and navigation tools that help students understand Malone Global University. Before using the larger library, departments, lessons, guides, and reference systems, students should know the purpose of the institution, the expectations for conduct, and the layout of the website.

The orientation materials are meant to create a shared starting point. Students should read each required page carefully so that later study, research, and participation can happen with fewer questions about where to go, what the rules are, and how the academic environment is organized.

Required Reading

The following pages should be reviewed before beginning regular study at Malone Global University. Together, they explain the founder, the mission, the standards of conduct, the privacy and terms policies, the physical-location status of the institution, and the basic method for navigating the website.

How to Use This Orientation

Students should begin by reading each required page in order. After finishing the required reading, students should return to the main navigation pages and begin exploring the areas most relevant to their goals. A new visitor may begin with the Library Guide, a department page, a textbook, a tutorial, or a reference page depending on the reason for visiting MGU.

The most important outcome of orientation is confidence. Students should leave this page knowing what Malone Global University is, what it expects, where the major resources are located, and how to continue learning without feeling lost inside a large website.

Site Map

A site map lists all the webpages of a site. This site contains over 10,000 pages so it is unrealistic to list them all here. The main subdomains and pages will be presented briefly to help form a quick mental image to aid navigation.
